Import of Black Goats - 2008
The Black Tent consists of black goat hair. In order to retrieve hair for a good yarn one has to breed very special animals like the black cashmir long-hair goat. It is not a coincidence, that especially the black long-hair goat can endure extreme heats and colds. In addition to various special physical conditions of these goats, the black hair helps them to endure the impact of intense sunlight and heat. In the year 2008, we try to import 4 young black cashmir goats from Turkey to our farm in Austria.

The First Import of the Black Tent Canvas - 2007
Together with the marvelous help of the Peker family (black canvas weavers), a first import to Austria of 150 kg canvas via cargo-plane could be managed. This sounds easy, but one has to remind the very strict regulations for kilims and carpets. Unfortunately, the black tent is a sort of kilim. Finally, for the first time ever, a black tent canvas was officially imported to Western Europe.
